WomenShelter of Long Beach (2018)

In early 2018, HALA worked with WomenShelter of Long Beach to convert three storage areas into bedrooms, which added 10 beds to their existing domestic violence shelter. Through HALA’s efforts, the cost of construction was reduced to only $31,220. Then, we maximized our leverage, expertise, and contacts in the building industry to cover 100% of those costs through in-kind donations of materials and labor. Lennar served as Builder Captain for this project, and their efforts were key to our 100% savings rate.
