National Health Foundation Pico-Union Recuperative Care Facility

In 2018, HomeAid Los Angeles and National Health Foundation celebrated the ribbon cutting for a 62-bed recuperative care facility in Pico-Union. The event featured a community-wide block party and ceremony featuring Mayor Eric Garcetti and County Supervisor Hilda Solis.

At a cost of $1.17 million, this was a formidable construction project that required extensive renovations of an existing structure. Using our industry expertise and deep connections within the building community, HALA and our Builder Captain, etcoHOMES, achieved a cost savings of 40.2%. This dramatic reduction in cost ensured that National Health Foundation could direct their resources toward providing shelter for homeless individuals recovering from hospital visits. Their efforts will help hundreds of people per year.
